Chair Pilates Videos

My new series of chair Pilates videos are a take on Classical Pilates exercises that are repurposed for a household chair. This is very user friendly for those who prefer not to get up and down from the floor. My videos move you through many different variations of Classical exercises and can be performed by all skill levels. Make no mistake, these videos are still challenging, will get you moving, help enhance your mind body connection, and will give you the strengthening and lengthening benefits of Classical Pilates mat-work.

A Wunda Chair however, designed by Joseph Pilates, is a well-known piece of equipment used in Classical Pilates. It has very specific movements that coincide with the way the chair is designed. I have repurposed a handful of these sequences to be adaptable on a simple household chair.

With my chair Pilates videos you can get in a full Pilates workout without expensive equipment like the Wunda Chair. All you need is any sturdy, everyday chair and your own body weight.

The Core Expert™’s Online Chair Pilates Videos

My online home Pilates chair classes are great for any comfort level. I do however encourage you to challenge yourself whenever possible. One way is to sit toward the front of the chair to support your own body weight. Without leaning on the back of the chair, you will automatically recruit important core muscles to stabilize and hold your posture. However if you need that little extra support, unlike the Wunda Chair, you have the option of using the back of the chair. Either way, as you move through these chair workouts, you will continue to connect your body, mind, and spirit, and feel strong, balanced, and centered.

Types of Pilates Exercises That Can Be Done On A Traditional Chair.

The majority of exercises that can be done on the Pilates mat can be easily modified for any stable chair you can find in your home. What’s great about using a traditional chair for my Pilates chair workout videos is that you can utilize the back of the chair for a multitude of other exercises.

In my videos I lead you through a series of seated leg extensions, arm exercises, squats and lunges (while holding the back of the chair), side stretches, and many other key elements to engage your core, improve core strength and stability, and deepen the body, mind, spirit connection.

If you want to challenge yourself in any of my online Pilates chair videos you can add small hand and/or ankle weights to the exercises. If you don’t have access to that type of equipment you can use soup cans or water bottles.

Who Can Do My Chair Pilates Videos?

My chair Pilates videos are a great workout for those recovering from an injury and who may need gradual progression back into my HITT and CORE workouts. They are also designed for active agers to gain strength, focus, and MOVE daily without impact on the joints. If you are just beginning your Pilates journey and want to grasp the mind-body connection at a slower pace, then Chair Pilates is an excellent starting point. These videos are also great for pregnant women who need extra back support especially in their third trimester.
