Staying Present During An Unprecented Year: A Reflection

My friends,

We are more than halfway through 2020 - which in and of itself feels a bit surreal - and this year has been unprecedented in so many ways. There have been missed celebrations, opportunities, and experiences we had hoped to have, and more time on our hands than ever before.

However just like there is no going back in time, nor does it serve us to dwell in what could have been, what came before, and what hasn't happened. We only have (and have only ever had) the present moment.

Our work is not to get stuck on what has passed, but to process and accept what is, so that we may move forward with greater awareness for it. And we must do so mindfully and with love in our hearts. This will determine our future as a collective.

I know that for many of us our lives and goals look very different now than they did back in January, and it might be easy to get pulled into thoughts of the way things used to be. So rather, let's take a moment as we head into the second half of 2020 to pause and process, to honor everything we've done and learned so far, and to reset our intentions for the remainder of the year.

We are all a part of a historical moment, for an undetermined amount of time. Let's move into the final half of 2020 with a renewed sense of awareness, purpose, and presence-together, as a collective. The present is the place of possibility, new ideas, and hope. Let's choose to move from this place.

-Much love
